About South West Waters
The Southwest Waters region is perfect for walking, playing beach games, flying kites, picnics and splashing about in the sea. But one of the best things to do is explore the amazing waters around!
The coastline is reknowned for its beautiful beaches, unspoilt dunes and high and low tides, perfect for bird watching. Brixham is sheltered from the south-westerly winds, which offers safe access in all weathers and at all states of the tide.
Brixham is home to one of England and Wales most successful fishing fleets and regularly lands more value than any UK port outside of Scotland.
Brixham is a small fishing port on the South Devon coastline, part of the stunning English Riviera. The town has a long and rich maritime history and is a popular resort, offering plenty of activities for the young and old.
Brixham produces a vast amount of catches daily and used to compete with Torquay and Paington, eventually dominating and now remaining the only active port.
The picturesque town has quaint and olde-worlde cottages and a harbourside, nestled at the foot of the town. There are also several beaches and a saltwater outdoor swimming pool, supervised by lifeguards.
